Gayna Williams
Gayna is the co-ordinator for the STEM 4 HER program. Gayna is a career and leadership coach for women (If She Can I Can) and believes every female deserves the chance to have the career she dreams of. She was motivated to kick off the STEM 4 HER program after looking at ways to encourage the next generation of female college students to keep their college and career options open by keeping interested in STEM subject through high school. There are lots of ways this can be achieved, and STEM for HER contributes by providing female role models who have taken a STEM paths through college and into exciting careers.
Gayna worked at Microsoft for almost 20 years. She started as a usability engineer and over time become a User Experience Director. She was responsible for understanding what people wanted technology to do for them, and to make sure the products built were both fun and easy to use. She managed teams of researchers, designers, and developers. She still loves working in technology as there is always something new to learn and new ways technology can solve problems. She got her undergraduate degree in the UK and her masters degree from the University of Minnesota.
